It’s fascinating to find out the reason behind a company name.  Often they are named after a person or a place…and suddenly a story is revealed.  We’d like to share the story behind the name LydiaStyle. 

Lydia was a prosperous businesswoman of the city of Thyatira who became a convert to Christianity after hearing the apostle Paul speak (Acts 16:12-15, 40).  This city was known for its purple...its beautifully dyed cloth.  Lydia sold dyes and dyed goods and is a great example for Christians in the business world today.  A devout Christian and a conscientious businesswoman, she used her work to help further God’s purpose.

LydiaStyle exists to empower and encourage women.  It is Tonya’s desire to provide the same opportunities she had when she got into direct sales many years ago.  After quitting a full time teaching job when her first baby was born, Tonya desired to work from home to provide a stream of income for her family, yet be available to raise her kids.  She was also looking for something that would be challenging and help her to continue developing her love of learning.  Little did she know, when she became a consultant for a direct sales company, it would open up a world she never knew existed… a world where a person is rewarded financially for the effort that is put into home party sales, recruiting, and leader development; a world in which the flexibility of a home-based business allowed her to homeschool her four children; and a world that provided countless awards, bonuses, learning opportunities, and incentive trips for her and her husband to enjoy.  After many years as a top producer, Tonya decided to start Dynamic Performance Institute, a company that trained direct sales companies.  After many years of coaching and training consultants to reach their potential, she chose to take the next step and launch her own direct sales company…LydiaStyle.
